The Chokecherry Jamboree was an event separate to the fair in its
inception. However, the community’s desire for one larger festival
quickly merged the two events. Along with the carnival the festival
features Mud Drags, a Pit Spitting Contest, a Parade, entertainment,
BBQ's & pancake feeds, and the Little Miss Chokecherry Pageant. The
first contest was among HS girls. Interest in the contest became
stronger among younger girls and the Little Miss Chokecherry Pageant
is now open to 1st and 2nd grade girls.
